Poem: The Balancer

Trigger Warning!!

I’m not exactly certain what it should be called. I’m going with

Hopelessness

But there is probably a better term. Be wary before reading.

The Balancer

I am what is needed.
I am the fates;
I am the balance;
I offer freedom
And free will,
But when do I
Get those things?
Everything I do
Is known about,
Is expected.
I want to be daring;
I wish to not be
Under control.
I want freedom;
I want strength,
Power, hope.
I have given my all
And then some
To this pathetic excuse
Of a young world.
What do I get in return?
Nothing.
Just emptiness,
Pain, misery,
And most of all
NOTHING.
