Poem: Only Memory Left

triggers

grief (death)

Only Memory Left

slips of passing thought
moving past my mind
as i lie alone in bed
wishing you werent gone

the hand i used to hold

has disappeared from my side
the body offering warmth
has only memory left

the loneliness
has made me cold
that set me up
to lose it all

all my begging
wont bring you home
since its not just my room
youve left from
